Panorama turns a page with book drive

Residents can donate books for the shelves of the school's new library facility.

Panorama turns a page with book drive –

Panorama Combined School has turned to the community for assistance with its book drive project. Staff member, Rehana Cotwal has a  goal to bring a love of reading back into the classrooms.

Head of Department, Davy Ndarera explained that since the merging of the junior and senior primary phases, there was not enough space to accommodate all the learners. As a result, the library was converted into classrooms.

Even the sports lockers are converted,” said Ndarera.

The school recently received a donation of prefabricated buildings, one of which will become the new library.

Both Ndarera and Cotwal are appealing for donations of books suitable for Grades 1 to 12. The books can be dropped off at the Newcastle Advertiser between 08:00 and 16:00 from Monday to Thursday.

For more information, contact Cotwal on 082 967 7702.
