The Newcastle Municipality issued a statement earlier this afternoon (May 31), informing residents of expected water outages tomorrow (June 1) from 12:00 to 17:00.

Mlungisi Khumalo, from the municipal Communications Unit, stated these disruptions were due to the installation of flow meters at the Signal Hill Reservoir.

The following areas will be affected:

  • Signal Hill
  • Aviary Hill
  • Hutten Heights
  • Schuinshoogte

Khumalo also warned of water disruptions on Thursday (June 2) from 12:00 to 17:00, due to flow meter installation at the Northdown Reservoir.

The following areas will be affected:

  • Sunnyridge
  • Amajuba Park
  • Ncandu Park
  • Barry Hertzog Park
  • Pioneer Park (lower)
