Sewage spills continue to plague CBD –

For more than six months now, business owners on Sutherland Street have had to endure the horrendous stench of raw sewage. According to them, waste water has been overflowing since last year.

We have reported the issue numerous times but until now, nothing has been done to fix the problem! We have a school across the road and this is hazardous for their health. What more must be done for this to be addressed?” said one business owner.

He commented that vendors regularly made and sold food outside the school. The business owner expressed concern that the overflowing sewage could have negative health implications on those learners who purchased and ate food from the vendors.
