The man was killed in a shooting in Loskop

Killed in a shooting, an anonymous man awaits identification.

For this reason, Loskop (Amangwe) police require your help to identify a man who died in hospital after being shot several times.

“On February 6, a man sustained several gunshot wounds in a shooting incident that took place in the Amangwe area. He was transported to Estcourt Hospital without police being informed of the incident. His condition was serious and he was transferred to Ladysmith Regional Hospital, where he later passed on,” explained police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.

When Ladysmith police were called upon to open an inquest, the case was transferred to Amangwe SAPS for investigation.

“The next-of-kin given by the deceased at the time of his admittance to hospital cannot be located. No one has since come forward looking for the deceased, nor has he been reported missing at nearby stations,” added Khan.

While the man has no distinguishing marks, police describe him as being of slender build, clean shaven with short hair.

“Detectives are appealing to the community to assist them with any information they may have about the next-of-kin of the deceased. You are urged to contact Sergeant Buthelezi of Amangwe Detective Services on 076 673 0977 or 082 462 9569. Alternatively, contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111. All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence,” concluded Khan.
