Schonland Street collision leaves one dead –

One person has died, after a vehicle collided with a truck on Schonland Street in the Riverside Industrial Area earlier this evening (May 13).

According to Jan-Henk van Vuuren of Magenta Medical Services, it is believed the truck was turning out of a business premises when the vehicle crashed into the trailer. The driver of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries as a result.

The passenger in the vehicle sustained moderate injuries and was treated at the scene, before being transferred to hospital.”

All emergency services are currently at the scene, conducting preliminary investigations into the collision and its exact cause.
