Mayor ‘unpacks’ draft IDP budget in Sithembile Hall

In the 2022/2023 drafted budget, four Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) projects are on top of the list.

Electrification, cemeteries, and Marikana Road were top of the agenda in the recent Integrated Development Plan (IDP) draft budget meeting held in Sithembile.
The new draft budget was tabled by Endumeni Mayor Ndlovu during the first series of municipal road shows held recently.
In the 2022/2023 drafted budget, four Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) projects are on top of the list.
These are the proposed MIG projects that the municipality will be focusing on in the coming financial year: the establishment of cemeteries in Dundee at R5.4 million (multi-year project); cemeteries in Glencoe at R500,000 (also multi-year projects); the construction of Marikana Road (R10 million); as well as the electrification of Kunene Crydom Farm (R20.9 million).
Electrification of houses in Forestdale and Dlamini Village are also a top priority in the draft budget.
During the mayoral address, Sithembile residents voiced their frustration about poor service delivery, saying that the new council lacks accountability and transparency.

Mayor Ndlovu outlined the draft budget, explaining to the community of Sithembile that the population of Dundee has increased over the years. That is why the municipality has to re-look at their yearly budget to accommodate the increasing numbers.
