Suspects busted for stolen goods and theft

Uthukela Crime Intelligence Gathering Unit and Ladysmith Visible Policing officers were responsible for the arrests

Three men aged between 26 and 41 will stand trial soon in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court.

Two of the three suspects face charges of being in possession of suspected stolen property, while the third will answer to a charge of theft.

The trio were nabbed during an Intelligence-driven operation on Tuesday evening (April 26).

One of the three was arrested in the Ntabamyama area, while the other two were arrested on a local farm.

Two batteries valued at R10,000 were recovered.

Officers from the Uthukela Crime Intelligence Gathering Unit and Ladysmith Visible Policing were responsible for the arrests and recoveries.

All three suspects managed to evade police on April 24 when a previous operation was held.
