The community of Dundee recently joined hands and collected water for flood victims in Durban.
A total of 2600 litres of water was collected and transported to Durban over the weekend.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank local policeman Joey Kalicharan, who came up with this initiative after seeing the need to donate water to flood victims in Durban. I took over from him, as he is a busy man, and the response has been very positive.
“I have opened up my home as a drop-off point for five-litre bottled water and I must say that the people of Dundee have been donating since we announced this initiative.
“I am working closely with the Al-Imdaad Foundation based in Ladysmith to deliver water to Durban,” said Uncle Mac. He further explained that this is a joint venture between Glencoe, Dundee, Newcastle and Wasbank.
He thanks the community at large for their ongoing support of this initiative.
