NHS environmental team cleans up –

On Saturday (23 April), the environmental club from Newcastle High School took to the streets of Newcastle to make a difference.

Organiser and co-ordinator, Halalisiwe Sibiya said the club exists to teach learners how to be responsible and aware of what litter does to the environment. It is then the duty of these learners to raise awareness wherever they go.

Every piece of paper or plastic you pick up helps the environment,” said NHS Principal, Manny Govender.

The high school learners were energetic and the enthusiasm ran high, as they were handed refuse bags and gloves. They then set off on a mission to clean up the town.
