Trio of suspected thieves nabbed in Bergville

The suspects, aged between 29 and 40, were arrested during the course of the weekend

Three people are making an appearance before the Bergville Magistrate’s Court today (April 25) after being charged with possession of suspected stolen property and theft.

The suspects, aged between 29 and 40, were arrested during the course of the weekend.

“Bergville police officers received valuable information concerning two burglary cases that occurred late last week. The incidents took place in the Bergville CBD,” said police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.

Following up on the information, officers found themselves at a home where three people were traced and arrested.

 

Police recovered gas cylinders, which are suspected to be stolen.

“They also recovered stolen property. Gas cylinders and cement were part of the recovered property,” added Khan.
