Successful school reunion for ‘Class of 92’

There was also lots of catching up on everything that has happened in the years since matriculating.

The ‘Class of 92’ at Ekucabangeni High School, based in Nquthu, recently gathered at Omedia Hall for a 30-year school reunion.
Plans for the reunion were put in motion by Thandazani Msimango and Dudu Buthelezi, who met at a funeral in November last year.
Thandazani and Dudu were able to locate 30 former classmates. However, during their hunt for those who were in the matric class of 1992, they sadly discovered that more than 15 of their fellow matriculants had passed on.
Sadness aside though, the reunion was a great success, with everyone happily reminiscing about yesteryear and what they got up to when they were still at school. There was also lots of catching up on everything that has happened in the years since matriculating. Thandazani excitedly commented that: “We were able to reach out to our former class teacher, Mr L Kubheka, and the former principal of our neighbouring school, Phumlani Secondary School in Nquthu. Joy and laughter was the order of the day as classmates got to see each other after so many years.”
At the reunion, the ‘Class of 92’ agreed to plough back into their former school and help where they can.
They also had the chance to thank their former teachers, especially class teacher Mr Kubheka.
