Honouring the ‘father of Food for Life’

Sunday’s feed was done in honour of Laxminath Das who has been named as the “father of Food for Life”

Piping hot, home cooked meals filled the bellies of 500 people on a cold and rainy Sunday (April 17).

This is thanks to the Food for Life Estcourt team that prepared a nutritious vegetarian meal.

250 meals were distributed in Forderville and the remaining 250 meals made its way to residents in Masuku D-Section.

Sunday’s feed was done in honour of Laxminath Das who has been named as the “father of Food for Life.”

He was renowned as a diligent devotee that dedicated his life to ensuring that the mandate for the Food for Life organisation, to curb hunger, was fulfilled.

“Laxminath Das assisted us in setting up Food for Life Estcourt. He gave us the finer details of bulk cooking,” said Lokeshwar Das from the local branch.
