Help find Layla her forever home

When the SPCA arrived at the scene, they described the dog as malnourished and terrified.

Help find Layla her forever home –

The Newcastle SPCA is appealing to residents to help Layla find a happily ever after. The dog was abandoned at a playpark in Barry Hertzog Park last month.

SPCA Inspector, Elize van Rooyen explained that at the time, she received a call from a concerned resident, informing her that a large breed dog and a box containing puppies had been dumped in the area.

Upon arrival, van Rooyen spotted the distraught dog. She described Layla as malnourished and terrified.

The cardboard box contained ten of the most precious puppies. It wasn’t an easy task at hand, but we eventually managed to capture Layla and bring her to the SPCA, after about three hours of trying to win her trust,” said van Rooyen.

The SPCA Inspector is now urging pet lovers to visit the society and give Layla a loving new home. To arrange a visit, call the Newcastle SPCA on 034 318 2346 or visit 1 Sampson Drive, Barry Hertzog Park.

Layla is such a sweetheart and most certainly deserves a decent and loving home.”
