Lions pledges support for KZN flood victims –

Lions International has pledged its assistance to the victims of the flooding in KwaZulu-Natal, which occurred last week in and around Durban.

Nicolette Baney, President of the Newcastle Lions Club, is now appealing to the Newcastle community to come together and help them with essential items. These essentials will then be distributed to the needy.

As a mother, I am especially pleading with Newcastle parents to donate clothing, toys and baby items to the children affected by the floods. Those parents are dealing with the stress of losing everything and deserve some assistance to lighten their load.”

Pick n Pay Hutten Heights and Pick n Pay Family (Pioneer Park) both have donation drop-off spots. Toiletries, sanitary items, non-perishable foods, bottled water, nappies and baby milk can be placed in the trolleys provided by these stores.

Baney also encouraged residents to donate items such as clothing, shoes, blankets, curtains and unused household items, which can be delivered directly to her.

Call Baney on 060 602 4383 for more information and to make donation arrangements.
