Clean drinking water is going to waste, say residents

A burst water pipe in Malcolm Road, in front of Ladysmith Regional Hospital, is resulting in clean drinking water going down the drain. 

Residents in the area are complaining that water is being wasted and uThukela are not doing anything about it.

One woman fumed that some areas in Ladysmith go days without water but here, fresh water is wasted and no one seems to be bothered.

“Pedestrians have difficulty walking there, as the pathway is full of mud,” said another resident. 

At the time of publishing, uThukela had not commented.
