Newcastle resident takes on Miss SA –

Mbali Dlamini is a bubbly, vibrant 25-year-old with ambition. She has entered this year’s Miss South Africa pageant and aims to become a global youth ambassador, committed to reducing unemployment among other aspirations.

She is also a television model, social entrepreneur, philanthropist, brand influencer and businesswoman, who places education high on her list of priorities. Mbali has been mentored by former Miss SA, Peggy Sue Khumalo.

Mbali, who was born and raised in Newcastle, has accomplished so much since the age of 15 when she founded and hosted ‘Miss Bedazzled Newcastle’, which is now an established event.

My motto is ‘awukwazi ukuhlala ekhoneni ulinde amathuba ukuthi eze kuwe’, which translates to ‘You can’t just sit in the corner and expect opportunities to come to you’.”

For more about Mbali and her journey in the fields of marketing, business and modelling, read the full the interview in this week’s edition of the Newcastle Advertiser. The latest edition is on shelves from Thursday morning.
