Owner traumatised by rental block fire

Anyone who can assist these residents should call 073 791 7379 or 083 516 3302.

A rental building next to the supermarket and bottle store in Hlobane caught fire on Tuesday morning. The building owner, Mr Mthethwa said he has been left traumatised by the blaze, which gutted the structure and destroyed most of the tenants’ belongings.

“At the moment, I do not know what to say and do, because this is really bad,” he commented. Dean Joji, the previous owner of the building, explained that no one was injured during the fire, but many have been left without a roof over their heads and with little to their name. He has appealed to the community for assistance with donations.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this stage, but residents have speculated that electricity fluctuations throughout the day may somehow be to blame. Anyone who can assist these residents should call 073 791 7379 or 083 516 3302. ALSO READ:VRYHEID KZN: Hlobane SAPS robbed of firearms
