The act of donating a pint of blood could mean the difference between life or death for a patient in need.
This is according to the South African National Blood Service (SANBS), who say that a single blood donation saves a minimum of three lives once it is separated into red blood cells, plasma and platelets.
A call to donate life-saving blood was made by the SANBS when a community donor clinic was held on April 3.
Partnering with the Estcourt Sai Centre, SANBS staff were at the Forderville Hall (side hall) from 10:00 until 14:00.

15 pints of blood were donated on the day. Both organisations are grateful and thank the 19 locals who pitched up to donate at the clinic.
Koomarasen Pillaye from the Estcourt Sai Centre was pleased to announce that the Forderville Hall (side hall) will be the donor site for the entire year.
