Business owners in Alfred Street are up in arms with uThukela District Municipality over a sewer leak that has been a problem for months now.
They are complaining that the sewer leak runs from the top to the bottom of the street.
The matter has been reported to uThukela Municipality several times, but nothing has been done to resolve the problem.
“The foul-smelling water can be seen flowing into the river,” said a businessman.
Businesses in the area further complain that they cannot keep their doors and windows closed to prevent the stench from getting in.
