Andre van Straaten to represent SA at World Shoot in Thailand

Andre van Straaten was elected to represent South Africa at the World Shoot in Thailand later this year

The South African Practical Shooting Association (SAPSA) of Northern KwaZulu-Natal (NKZN) held their League Shoot in Dundee at Alwynkop Shooting Club on Saturday. “We were proud to have Andre van Straaten (Buffalo) participating, as he was elected to represent South Africa at the World Shoot in Thailand later this year,” said chairman Fritz Botes.
20 shooters from NKZN came to enjoy the Level 2 Shoot, representing Buffalo Club Newcastle, Wasbank Shooting Club and Alwynkop Club Dundee.
“Andre, in the Super Senior category, first represented SA in the 80s and he is still going strong at age 67; a true example of staying young by being active,” said Fritz.
After six stages and 100 scoring shots, the results were as follows:
Production: 1st – Gerhard Lombaard; 2nd – Manash Ragunanan.
Classic: 1st – Andre van Straaten.
