‘Forgiveness’ by Halalisani Shoba

The process of forgiveness will leave you with scars, but it is fine; Embrace your scars and be a better person by choosing the path of forgiveness.

Why should we forgive those who trespass against us? Who deserves forgiveness? When is the right time to forgive? Should we forgive at all times? What must happen after forgiveness? Is forgiveness worth it? I believe everyone has that specific question when it comes to the subject of forgiveness. Forgiveness is the best thing; you can do for yourself. No one should be condemned for choosing the path of forgiveness.

The only mistake people do, is to rush the process of forgiveness. Forgiveness is nothing but a process, the process can be short or long but when it happens, it leaves a permanent mark.

The mark of relief, sanity, healing, joy, progress, and peace of mind. “Forgive them for they do not know what they are doing”. Those who caused you pain, sadness, and heartache; are not worth your time and consideration.

Forgive those who trespassed against you and make a decision going forward, whether you keep them in your circle or you cut them off for good, it is totally up to you. Forgive and you will be healed, forgive and you will be less frustrated, forgive and you will be free. “Forgiveness does not change the past but it does enlarge the future”.

Forgiveness does not erase anything but it grants us the opportunity to start afresh, the opportunity to overcome even what we thought was impossible.

Don’t just forgive your loved ones but make it a habit to forgive your enemies too. The process of forgiveness will leave you with scars, but it is fine; Embrace your scars and be a better person by choosing the path of forgiveness.
