Art auction raises over R40K for Newcastle SPCA –
The highly anticipated SPCA ‘Hope Through Art’ evening, which included an auction and a cheese and wine event, took place at the Newcastle Club this past Friday evening (March 25).
Heather Gero of the Newcastle SPCA explained that the total raised by the event so far was around R43 000, but she could only confirm the grand total at a later stage. She added the final figures were still being calculated.

Event auctioneer Craig Pedersen thank every person who came out and supported the evening. He stated that without the help of the community, there would be no one to fight for the injustices committed against animals whose voices often go unheard.
