An intense soccer encounter took place between Amavukana Football Club (FC) and Cosmos FC at the Glencoe Stadium on Sunday.
The fan turnout wasn’t great, but those spectators who did watch the match got to feast their eyes on great action as Cosmos dominated proceedings during the first half.
However, a lot of missed goal-scoring opportunities saw the score-sheet remaining at 0-0 when the whistle blew for half-time.
The match took on a different complexion in the second half, with Amavukana coming back stronger after a pep talk by the coach.
They turned the tables and dominated ball possession in the second half.
To their credit, they capitalised on chances in front of the net and managed to score two goals.
The final score was thus 2-0 to Amavukana. They were worthy victors after a very well-matched tussle that saw fortunes swaying back and forth as the match went on.
