Municipality holds strategic workshop

The municipality has the task of explaining to the community how much they can afford in terms of the budget

Alfred Duma Local Municipality held a Strategic Planning Workshop from March 14 to 16.

All managers from the various municipal departments, as well as councillors from all political parties, attended the workshop.

This initiative formed part of the mayoral programme towards ensuring that both council leadership and municipal management work together to improve service delivery.

The municipality is faced with the task of explaining to the community how much they can afford in terms of the budget. The community also needs to be told what can be done in terms of service delivery.

According to municipal spokesperson Siyabonga Maphalala, the municipality cannot deliver everything based on the budget.

The municipality say they are committed to the realisation of the five National Key Performance Areas, being the following: Good Governance and Public Participation, Municipal Transformation and Organisational Development, Basic Infrastructure and Service Delivery, Local Economic Development, and Municipal Financial Viability and Management.
