During patrol duties on July 15, 2021, Constables S Majola and SB Mthalane and Sergeant PS Hlongwane stopped a truck driver near a truck stop in Loskop Road.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan, the vigilant officers examined the vehicle and soon found that it was one of eight trucks that had been reported stolen during the looting / unrest.

“This truck was taken from Riverhorse Valley, where computer equipment and medication was also taken from the premises,” commented Khan.

A case of possession of suspected stolen property was opened and detectives began the task of investigating.

“Through thorough detective work, a six-year direct imprisonment sentence was given to the accused, Mvelo Majola. The sentence was handed down by a specialist section on March 4,” added Khan.
