Overflowing sewage in Hyde Road affects business

Sewer water runs onto the road and makes passing vehicles dirty

A businessman who trades from premises in Hyde Road is fed up with uThukela for not attending to an overflowing sewage leak. 

He said the leak is negatively affecting his business, as potential customers stay away due to the foul smell that hangs in the air.

To make matters worse, the sewer water runs onto the road and makes passing vehicles dirty. 

The frustrated businessman says he contacted uThukela, but no one has come out to remedy the problem.

He commented that, ” I am worried because this business is my only source of income and I don’t know how I will survive if I’m forced to close up shop.”

According to uThukela spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza, they are aware of the leak and will send out workers to attend to the matter soon.
