Car goes up in flames in Pick n Pay parking lot

The driver made a narrow escape

A car went up in flames in the Pick n Pay parking lot this morning (February 22).

The driver of the Ford vehicle said he was on his way to work when the car suddenly switched off. He push-started it and went into the San Marco / Pick n Pay parking lot. He got into the car and was about to drive off when he saw sparks shooting out of the engine.

He quickly got out of the car and it was a narrow escape.

“In the blink of an eye, my car was on fire and I was in a state of shock,” said the driver. “I still feel a bit numb,” he added after the incident.
