Joint operation sees stolen livestock recovered –

A team comprising SAPS officials, farmers and security personnel have helped recover five calves in the Dannhauser area.

Lizzy Arumugam, from the Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications office, explained that information was received about livestock that were stolen from a farm in Manzimnyama. The tip-off was received last Thursday (February 11).

A joint operations team was then formed on Tuesday, February 15. The team included the Amajuba Anti-Stock Theft Unit, local farmers and local security teams.

The information led them to a farm in the Manzimnyama area where the five calves had been hidden,” stated Arumugam.

The calves have been positively identified by their rightful owner and have since been returned.

SAPS has further congratulated the joint operations team for working together to re-unite the calves and the owner, and commended farmers for working with police officials in the name of justice.
