Last-minute Valentine’s Day plans?

Here are some tips which should come in handy...

It’s Valentine’s Day today! So have you made any plans? While Valentine’s Day is a largely commercialised idea, everyone wants to feel spoiled and appreciated by their partner.

Plus, what’s the use of having a loved one if you can’t brag to your friends about how they spoiled you on the day?

If you need to come up with a quick plan to save the day, here are some tips which should come in handy:

A picnic and a bunch of flowers

With Valentine’s Day falling on a Monday, this is the ideal time to shoot off to a quiet spot for a picnic. Slip off to the store, buy a picnic basket, some snacks, sweets, a bottle of champagne and a bunch of flowers, and put it in your car’s boot.

Ask your loved one to take a leisurely ride with you and then drive to a romantic spot with a view.

Once there, give them the flowers and make it look as if you’ve planned the whole event well in advance. Confidence is everything!

Box of chocolates

Every store will be overflowing with chocolates and gift bags for the day, so don’t be afraid to grab a box of chocolates for your loved one.

Romantic dinner at home

This is the ideal way to surprise your significant other.

The best way to go about this would be to send your partner out for the afternoon, get some red candles, red roses and deck the table neatly. Once done, prepare a three-course meal (or something less time-consuming) and set up the meal in a visually pleasing way.

When the meal is ready, send the kids out for the evening, light the candles, play soothing music and for after the meal, maybe stream your partner’s favourite romantic movie on Netflix.

And one more thing; don’t expect your girlfriend or wife to wash the dishes. It doesn’t work that way on Valentine’s Day!
