ESTCOURT KZN: Partnering to alleviate hunger

The home-cooked, freshly-prepared meals were welcomed by the recipients, especially on that cold and gloomy Saturday

During the three years that the Food for Life Estcourt branch has been operating, 13,000 meals have been distributed to needy communities in and around Estcourt.

This is thanks to the generosity of local and out-of-town sponsors, who consist of individuals and businesses that donate either cash or ingredients for the meals.

On Saturday, the Food for Life team welcomed another donation from two local families.

The NLP Group were one of the sponsors, and the Rambaran family also made a donation in memory of Aroon Rambaran.
500 individually packaged meals containing vegetable breyani and dhall were prepared.

The meals being distributed in Colita.

250 of these meals were distributed to families in Forderville, while the remaining 250 were handed out in Colita.

Lokeshwar Das from the Food for Life Estcourt branch said that the past three years have been challenging at times. “It’s been a real struggle, especially with Covid, but our branch continued the battle to alleviate hunger in Estcourt, with so many people in difficulty,” he said.
