Volksrust High School welcomes new traditions:

Volksrust High School held its first ever Social Evening, formerly known as a Sokkie, on January 20.

According to Lushé Victor the school hadn’t been able to hold such an event in two whole years as a result of the Covid-19 regulations.

“Many people were devastated, but it is finally back, with a twist. Take the traditional ‘Sokkie’ and spice it up.”

With more variety in music and a braai area for those who don’t want to show off their best moves on the dance floor, the event catered to all.

Victor remarked that the evening was filled with bright smiles and happy memories.

“So here’s to the first of many, many wonderful Social Evenings!”

“The EC would like to thank Ms. Nicole Magudulela for the photography, Mrs. Fathima Moola for always being prepared to have a snoepie at our events, and our teachers and staff for supervising us in their spare time,” Victor concluded.
