Sewage a cause for concern in Riverbank Road

Raw effluent is running in front of shop entrances, making it difficult for customers to enter

Business owners in Riverbank Road are up-in-arms about the raw sewage that affects them on a daily basis. The road comprises businesses and also small entrepreneurs who are mostly motor mechanics. According to one business owner operating in the area, they have been badly affected by stinky sewer water running in front of their shops.

The businessmen are now placing wooden pallets on the ground to give people something to walk on, instead of slopping in the stinky sewer water.

“I am seriously losing so much money. Raw effluent is running in front of my shop, which makes it difficult for people to enter. The air we breathe also poses a danger to our health,” said one concerned business owner.

The municipality has not yet commented on the matter.
