AbaQulusi traffic officers clean trenches to promote community safety

Furthermore, officers Mbatha and Khumalo dug trenches alongside the road to enable water to channel away from the road

In the name of safety, two of AbaQulusi’s traffic officers cleaned the road at Lakeside crossing on Saturday. They cleaned out the mud puddles that were blocking water from flowing into the culverts. Furthermore, AbaQulusi traffic officers Mbatha and Khumalo dug trenches alongside the road to enable water to channel away from the road. They walked further up the road as well to clear the trenches and ensure that the water drains from the road properly. Mbatha states: “It is part of community safety to keep roads clear.” Both officers agreed that they would rather clean up and keep everyone safe than attend another accident scene at the notorious crossing. The officers added that the puddles pose a danger to motorists if they hit the water, as a vehicle could easily spin out of control and cause a collision. They went far beyond the call of duty to ensure the safety of motorists.
