Former mayor’s case transferred to Regional Court
This was Vincent Madlala's third appearance in court
The former Alfred Duma Local Municipality mayor, Vincent Madlala, appeared again in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court on Friday (January 28). The case has now been transferred to the Regional Court.
This was his third appearance after being arrested on Friday, July 30.
During his last appearance in court on October 22, the State asked for a postponement, saying they are still awaiting ballistics results.

Another reason for the request, according to the prosecutor, was that the State needs more time for further investigations. They are in contact with gun shops to find out when the guns were bought and by whom.
The case was transferred to the Regional Court and Madlala will appear next on March 30.
