Storm wreaks havoc in Utrecht: Heavy rains have caused massive damage in Utrecht, Emadlangeni Municipality.

Head of Communications, Ayanda Mabaso has confirmed that torrential rains last night (February 3) have left some areas flooded.

“I have been on the ground since 4:00, assisting where I can,” said Mabaso.

At this stage, he is unable to comment on the full extent of the damage, saying the situation is currently being assessed.

“Homes have been flooded, there has been a loss of cattle, roads have been damaged, and electricity might be off,” he continued.
