The female patient was carried out of the chopper and put onto a stretcher

A medical helicopter landed on the Ladysmith High School (LHS) sports field this afternoon (January 31) to transfer a patient to Lenmed La Verna Hospital.

The patient was flown to Ladysmith from a hospital in Vryheid.

The female patient was lifted out of the chopper and put onto a stretcher before being put into a waiting ambulance. She was wearing an oxygen mask and had machines attached to her body.

It is not known at this stage what the woman’s condition is that necessitated her urgent transfer.
