Truck catches fire on N3 at Van Reenen

The fire is out and clean-up operations are underway

A truck carrying insecticide caught fire during the early hours of this morning (January 29) on the N3 at Van Reenen. The incident took place on the southbound carriageway.

It is believed that the truck’s brakes were binding while coming down the pass, which caused the vehicle to catch alight.

N3TC officials responded to the scene and used their Emergency Normalization Vehicle to put out the fire. No injuries were reported.
