A 55-year-old man living in a home in the Mqedandaba area of Amangwe (Loskop) was roused from his sleep at about 21:15 on Sunday (January 23) by the sound of knocking on his door.

To his horror, three armed men were on the other side when he opened the door. The trio invaded the home, demanding cash and keys to a taxi that was parked in the yard. In an attempt to escape his assailants, the man fled, but this led to his demise.
