Emergency shutdown at Ezakheni Water Treatment Works

The shutdown is anticipated to last not more than 48 hours

uThukela District Municipality would like to notify the community that they are commencing an emergency shutdown at the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works to clear the silt build-up caused by the recent floods.

The shutdown is anticipated to last not more than 48 hours.

Water supply to areas supplied by this plant will be cut this afternoon (January 24) as a result of the shutdown.

Consumers are therefore advised to store water in containers.
