Elderly woman dies as room catches fire in Limit Hill

It is believed that the fire was started by a candle

An elderly woman died of smoke inhalation in the early hours of this morning (January 21). She was in her bedroom in the Limit Hill area when the room caught fire.

It is believed that the fire was started by a candle which had been placed near the bed.

Public Safety and the Fire Department responded to the scene.

The fire was put out before it could spread to the other rooms in the house.
