Vryheid Athletic Club (VAC) had a brilliant first Saturday run for 2022. It was well attended by runners and walkers alike, on a beautiful morning to get out there and get the legs moving! We had walkers doing 5km and 10km, as well as runners who did ’10km and up’. Everyone was treated to a cup of filter coffee, rusks and muffins at the VAC clubhouse after the walk/run. We would like to remind everyone that the entries close today (January 20) for the Volksrust Marathon (pre-entries only online at www.volksrust.com). This is a Comrades qualifier for those who are aiming to compete. We would like to encourage everyone to join VAC and make use of our facilities; it is a safe and secure place where families are welcome. Please contact the club captain, Johann, on 083 564 4812 and we will gladly assist you. We have 5km time trials every Thursday afternoon at 17:30 for walkers and runners from the clubhouse at Pionier Hoërskool. Saturday mornings will also be from the clubhouse at 05:00 for walkers and runners, with filter coffee afterwards. See you there!
