Young Chiefs crowned champions of off-season tournament
They walked away with R50,000
Young Chiefs FC were crowned champions of the recent Mgobhozi Off-Season Tournament. They walked away with R50,000 in prize money.
The tournament consisted of 41 teams from Ladysmith and surrounding areas, with the final being played in the Umhlumayo area.
The runners-up walked away with R25,000, while position 3 and 4 won R15,000 and R10,000 respectively.

Public relations officer Mr Maskito Hadebe said the tournament was a success. “We would like to thank the teams for their efforts and also commend the way they conducted themselves, which in turn made the tournament a huge success,” said Hadebe.
The top eight teams have now qualified to compete for another R25,000 prize money in a tournament set to take place on Good Friday.
