Livestock worth close to R50,000 were recovered after a farmer found that six of his cattle had been stolen on December 24. He reported the matter to Hlobane SAPS and the case was transferred to the Vryheid Stock Theft Unit for further investigation. On December 29, the unit received information that a man from the Eshoba area had transported five cows to his home. The Stock Theft Unit investigated and the man was arrested after failing to provide proof of ownership. The estimated value of the animals is R48,000.
