The officer sustained injuries to his head and chest

A police officer who was about to go off duty was involved in a crash on Friday (January 8) in Ezakheni B-Section.

The officer, who is attached to the Uthukela Tactical Response Team, was driving a Ford Everest. He is alleged to have lost control of the vehicle, which then veered into a house. The car crashed into the lounge.

None of the occupants of the house were injured, but the officer sustained injuries to his head and chest.

Ezakheni detectives are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving.
