Off to college? Here’s what you will need

Now that matric is over, the real fun can begin. College! Although the prospect of living in a college dorm sounds appealing, double-check your list of college must-haves.

To make sure you’re fully packed and ready to leave, follow our guide below:
  1. An alarm clock:

Remember that your mother isn’t there to wake you up. Make sure you don’t miss any courses by using an alarm clock.

  1. Mattress toppers:

Dorm beds are not at all comfortable. Use a mattress topper to get a better night’s sleep.

  1. Coffee maker / kettle:

You’re going to have to study late at night. The cafeteria will be closed, and you will require caffeine. Your college life will be made easier if you have a coffee maker.

  1. Your own printer:

There will be numerous assignments that require you to conduct research. You’ll spend a lot of time in the library if you don’t have a printer. You will save both time and money by having your own printer.

  1. Cables, plugs and cords:

This is a critical point. For all of your technical items, make sure you have spare cables, plugs, cords, and even batteries.

  1. First aid kits:

In the event of a minor mishap, having a modest first aid kit is strongly suggested. Make sure it has plasters, antiseptic, sunblock, and pain killers.

  1. Room divider:

If you’re in a shared dorm, a partition can be useful. You do, after all, desire your privacy.

  1. Desk lamp:

This is useful if you need to study late at night and your roommate needs to sleep. They will not be bothered by the lamp’s light.

  1. Mini bar fridge:

First and foremost, it’s a bar fridge… It also saves a lot of space in your dorm and doubles as a notice board, ensuring that you don’t overlook important tasks.

  1. Full length mirrors:

College students strongly suggest this.  It is critical to consistently present yourself in the best possible way.

  1. Bathroom caddy:

This is great for storing all of your essentials and makes bath time a breeze.

  1. Flip flips:

Public bathrooms are not always the cleanest places. When showering, wear flip flops to avoid the dreaded toe fungus.

  1. Storage bins:

Dorm rooms aren’t particularly large. Most of your clothes, shoes, and even books should be stored in storage bins.

  1. Laundry bags:

It all boils down to space and comfort once more. Using a bag rather than a basket saves not only space but also makes your journey to the laundry room much easier.

  1. Laptop and tablets and wifi router:

This is regarded as one of the most essential things you will need these days. You’ll need one or both of these things. If the college does not have open wifi, make sure you bring a modem with you.
