God is with us – Christmas message from Rev Sonto Thusi

As we are crossing over to 2022, let us beg our God to cross with us, knowing that if we are crossing with Him, 2022 will be a good and prosperous year for all of us

Firstly, on behalf of the Christian community and the church at large, I wish to take this opportunity to wish you all a blessed Christmas and prosperous new year.

Text – Mathew 1: 23

The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Emmanuel – which means God is with us. God is with us – This is our message of hope during this time when the whole world is crying since the outbreak and spread of Covid-19.

We have suffered a lot and we continue to suffer due to this epidemic. This text gives us hope that even if we are walking under the shadow of death, our God continues to be with us.

This statement may have been seen as irrelevant and mythical, but to those who trust in God, it gives hope that our God is with us and He will continue to be with us to comfort, give hope and provide every support we need.
We are at the time when we are expected to give gifts to our people, especially loved ones. I feel that our current situation forces us to do much more than what we normally do. Our economy has been badly affected by Covid-19 and I encourage each and every one of us to consider showing love by sharing and providing support to others who are less fortunate than we are.

We have just past the 2021 local government elections and we are now praying for our elected political leadership to be faithful to their calling in keeping their promises by delivering services to our people. We, as the church, are re-committing ourselves to continue praying for our government and continue raising our prophetic voice with the aim of seeing justice being done at all levels (Psalms 72:1-2).

I wish to urge each and every person to continue abiding by the Covid-19 regulations set by the State in trying to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Let’s become responsible citizens by doing the right things all the time.
As we are crossing over to 2022, let us beg our God to cross with us, knowing that if we are crossing with Him, 2022 will be a good and prosperous year for all of us (Exodus 33:12-16).

Vaccination – Our government is showing commitment in protecting its people against Covid-19 via vaccinations. We appreciate this and we, as the church, are thankful to our government. We are praying to God to continue giving them strength and wisdom as they continue to lead and take care of His people.

LET’S LISTEN TO THE CALL FROM OUR GOVERNMENT AND TAKE THE VACCINE!
