ESTCOURT KZN: Festive season wishes from the mayor

There is no time to be happy other than right now… If not now, then when? Our lives have been filled with a series of challenges since the beginning of this year. However, special thanks to the Almighty God, who gave us the power to stand the test of time.

As we begin to spend this time with our beloved families and friends, we need to be vigilant in everything we do.
We need to treasure every moment we have and treasure it more because we share it with special people, ie our families and friends.

While exercising our rights in everything, we mustn’t forget to be responsible. The death of one person on the road is one too many. So even when we have the latitude to drive to our holiday destinations, make sure not to drink and drive – arrive alive. Also avoid unnecessary conflict and fights that may occur.

As we will be welcoming 2022, we all have to put our animosities behind us and look toward to a brand new year with a positive gaze. We all had a long year, so we need to unwind. We need time to reload, recharge and revamp our efforts so that when we return to our respective toils next year, we continue where we left off in making this country a better place. And please let’s go and vaccinate to be safe from Covid-19; it’s there and the numbers of affected people are growing.

Let’s make sure that we wear masks and stay away from crowds. On behalf of Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality, I wish to extend my warmest regards and best wishes to everyone for the festive season. May the spirit of enthusiasm, oomph and renewed hope embrace you during this season and beyond. Have a blessed Christmas and a successful 2022 that will bring you joy, good health and prosperity.
