A K9 Unit police officer was shot dead in Steadville earlier this evening (December 11).
The shooting took place on the main road that runs through Steadville, near the taxi rank.
The officer was off duty at the time.

The motive behind the murder is unknown at this stage.

A manhunt is currently underway for the suspects.
