‘Fibre feud’ trial to conclude today

On Tuesday, the defence attorneys for Sgananda Shezi and Ntuthuko Mahlaba made applications for the charges against their clients to be dropped.

The attorneys believe the State has no evidence linking their clients to the ‘fibre feud’ assault incident.

Their applications are in terms of Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Act [innocent until proven guilty].

Magistrate Theunis Colditz stated he would deliver his verdict today (Wednesday, November 17).
