VRYHEID KZN: Vryheid Bowling Club introduces new 2022 committee

Members must please remember to pay their 2022 subs on or before December 1

Vryheid Bowling Club has elected a new committee for 2022. Congratulations to the following committee members: president – Magriet Kretzschmar; vice-president – Cameron Boock; treasurer – Willem Burger; secretary – Willem Burger; compsec – Cornel van Wyk; kitchen, bar and gardens – Rozelle Mostert; greenkeeper – Willem Burger, with the help of John Cross and Dries Els; additional members – Herman Jordaan and Jan Kruger.

The club held the third week of their Business League last Thursday evening. Thank you to all the businesses that entered a team. The teams are on a roll and there is fierce competition among them. The winners of the past few business leagues, Natal Plumbers, are in the lead at the moment… but watch this space!

Some of the members also competed in the Friedwaite Covid-19 Challenge 2021 in Dundee this past Saturday. A total of 20 trips teams entered this year’s challenge, with some players entering from as far away as Johannesburg, Margate, Piet Retief and Empangeni. A total of three games of 12 ends were played, with a point awarded for each end won and four points for the overall win. A team from Dundee took the win.

There will be social bowls on Saturday at 13:30.

Members must please remember to pay their 2022 subs on or before December 1.
